Seascape with gold
A loose watercolour sunset with heavy granulation colours and 24ct gold leaf applied.
One of my new 2021 experiments which is about telling the story of a space through visuals clues and colour. Here faint suggestions of brush stroke against a high depth horizon gives way to ideas of weather a sunlight dancing. The gold stripe offering interpretations of cliffs or sunlight, perhaps a distant bright storm.
Would suit a multitude of display spaces, and has colours which “pop” against lighter walls and backgrounds.
Bright, airy and loose watercolours applied to a rough watercolour paper, made locally at St Cuthbert’s Mill.
