I decided to join in the wonderful initiative by Sky Arts and their Artist of the Year programmes with their covid-lockdown specials with guest sitters for their arts series. I wish I had done it sooner! What a wonderful idea. Hanami

Hanami, a blossom of life, spring and joy. ‘Hanami’ is the Japanese tradition of celebrating the transient beauty of flowers. Particularly when they are in bloom and the flowers look the most beautiful displaying their blossom. This last few weeks have felt like a Hanami festival in the studio with a burst of inspiring colours, flowers and spring like emotions coming together to enter the transient state of flowers in bloom. Daljit is a scout leader, a compassionate wonderful person whom has spent decades volunteering in the UK and across the world helping others through scouting. He’s a friend whom I never fail to feel happy after talking too.
