Seascapes in Tredegar

Seascapes in Tredegar

If you're passing by the Art Studio in Tredegar this summer, take a moment to pause and enjoy a selection of watercolour Seascapes in the windows of our building.  Enjoy the accompanying poem below.

SEASCAPES IN TREDEGAR
Dearest stranger, look at this ocean now,
Be present, stable, stay here
And silent be,
dance maybe,
swaying to the sound of the sea.
Here at the clocktowers, tick,
ending pause, tick tick tock.
The sound of chalk wall fending foam,
Hour chiming bells on the towering clock
Bring echoes of buoys and fog bells ringing
Far off floating ships
An ocean dance floor
The dance of urgent errands;
And move in memory as now these clouds do,
That pass the harbour mirror
And all the summer through the water saunter.
Memories of days at the sea gone by.
A promise yet to come.
